Hosting, Maintenance & Third-Party Software Licensing Policy

Client-Owned Hosting

Digital Greys may assist clients with establishing and configuring their own hosting accounts. When a client uses a hosting account owned by the client, the client is responsible for the hosting account, hosting fees, account credentials, and the hosting provider’s terms and policies.

Digital Greys may retain authorized access to the client’s hosting account when necessary to provide website maintenance, updates, backups, security, and technical support.

Moving a website to a client-owned hosting account does not transfer ownership of Digital Greys’ third-party software licenses.

Third-Party Software and Licenses

Digital Greys may use premium themes, plugins, fonts, stock images, software, and other third-party products when developing and maintaining client websites.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, third-party licenses purchased and maintained by Digital Greys remain the property of Digital Greys. These licenses may be used to provide services to the client but do not transfer to the client as part of website development, hosting, or maintenance services.

If the client purchases a third-party license directly, that license remains the property and responsibility of the client, including renewals, updates, and vendor support.

Maintenance and Hosting Fees

Payment of hosting, maintenance, development, or other recurring service fees does not constitute a transfer of ownership of Digital Greys’ third-party software licenses.

Maintenance fees cover the services provided by Digital Greys. They do not grant the client ownership of, or permanent rights to, premium software licenses maintained by Digital Greys.

Digital Greys may maintain its own agency licenses for use on client websites as permitted by the applicable vendor’s licensing terms.

If Maintenance Services End

If the client terminates their maintenance agreement but continues to host the website independently, Digital Greys may deactivate any third-party licenses owned and maintained by Digital Greys.

The client may need to purchase their own licenses to continue receiving premium software updates, vendor support, templates, cloud services, or other licensed features.

Digital Greys will not provide access to its vendor accounts or license credentials to the client or another developer.

Website Ownership and Transfer

Unless otherwise stated in a separate written agreement, the client retains ownership of their website content, including text, photographs, business information, and other materials supplied by the client.

Digital Greys retains ownership of its proprietary code, development tools, processes, and third-party licenses.

If the client transfers the website to another developer, Digital Greys will provide reasonable assistance in transferring the website files and database, subject to applicable third-party licensing restrictions.

The client is responsible for obtaining any third-party licenses required for continued operation, updates, or support after Digital Greys’ maintenance services end.
